We are looking forward to attending the International Conferences this summer where we will listen to dynamic speakers, attend workshops, visit attractions, make and renew friendships, and browse, shop, learn at the Expo Fairs. Part of the Expos will be set aside for Committee Connections so attendees can have an opportunity to meet members from International Committees and learn about the important work of the committees. The International Educators Book Award Committee will have a display highlighting the 2023 Award winner, a list of past winners, and ideas for using the books in your states and chapters.
The Educators Book Award Committee will be at the Expos:
· Thursday and Friday in Tampere, Finland
· Saturday 1:30 – 3:30 in Phoenix
· Friday 3:30 – 5:00 p.m. and Saturday 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. in Detroit
We hope you will stop by. You may even be interested in volunteering for an International Committee for the next biennium.
Attendees will have a chance to meet Dr. Denise Ammeraal Furlong, the 2023 winning author for her book, Voices of Newcomers: Experiences of Multilingual Learners in Tampere, Finland and Phoenix, Arizona. Attendees will be treated to a video presentation by Dr. Furlong at the Second General Session in Detroit.
