The clock is ticking for International Scholarship applicants

February 1, 2020, is the deadline to apply for an International Scholarship. That date may seem months away, but the International Scholarship Committee urges applicants to get started on the process right away. Semester breaks and winter holidays may offer applicants more time to complete the application, but those same holidays can make it difficult to gather the required supporting documents for a timely submission.

Here are some key application facts to bear in mind:

•  Applicants must be enrolled in their degree program at the time of application and must not complete the degree prior to July 30, 2020.

• The application cannot be submitted until the university advisor has completed the program status report.

•  University transcripts and letters of recommendation from a professional reference and the chapter president must come directly to Society Headquarters.

• Application and supporting components must be postmarked or electronically time stamped by the February 1 deadline.

• Applicants who submit too near the deadline have no chance to follow up on any missing components, and incomplete application packets will not be considered, no matter how worthy the applicant.

It has been edited to be more relevant as well as user-friendly for all of our member countries. Applications are due February 1, 2020. Scholarships will be granted to those members who are enrolled for the 2020 -2021 academic year. Those seeking an advanced degree and have been a member for at least one year may apply for a $6,000 scholarship. Members who have been in DKG for at least three years and working on a doctorate may apply for a $10,000 scholarship. International scholarships can make the difference in pursuing your degree! Those seeking an advanced degree and have been a member for at least one year may apply for a $6,000 scholarship. Members who have been in DKG for at least three years and working on a doctorate may apply for a $10,000 scholarship. Are you seeking an advance degree?  There are up to 30 scholarships available to members seeking to further their education.  Those seeking an advanced degree and have been a member for at least a year may apply for a $6,000 scholarship.  Members who have been in DKG for at least three years and working on a doctorate may apply for a $10,000 scholarship. The Heat is On! Rise to the top by applying for a DKG international scholarship -- $6,000 toward earning an advanced degree and $10,000 toward a doctoral degree.

The international scholarship application is now online for awards to be presented for the 2018-2019 academic year.  Just go to www.dkg.org, click on Forms, go to the Application link, and find the application link at the bottom of the page.

Start the process today. The deadline is February 1, 2018 to submit the application and all supporting documentation. Be sure to follow the directions carefully and complete all sections of the application.

Scholarship Applications Available Soon!

On July 1, 2017,  the  new DKG international scholarship application for the 2018-2019 academic year will be available on the international website.  You can find the new, user-friendly application under the FORM link at the top of the international website Homepage (www.dkg.org). 

Scholarships are available to members who are pursuing doctoral, masters, and other advanced degrees in their field of study. Members are encouraged to start filling out an application a few months before the next due date, as it will take some careful thought and planning to complete the application packet and collect other required academic documentation.  February 1, 2018, is the next due date for the applications.

DO YOU KNOW THAT THE INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE RECENTLY AWARDED 12 SCHOLARSHIPS FOR HIGHER EDUCATION DEGREES? THE HEAT IS ON FOR PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL ADVANCEMENT, AND DKG HAS BEEN ABLE TO ASSIST ITS MEMBERS!

DKG has given $10,000 each to nine doctoral candidates and $6,000 each to three advanced degree candidates.  These members were vetted by the International Scholarship Committee through a rigorous scoring process, and we are thrilled to be able to assist these educators in their quest to reach for a “higher degree” of excellence within their chosen educational pathways.

These recipients have varied backgrounds in education that include work in the following areas: elementary, subject-specific secondary, special education K-12, elementary reading and language arts, university level, and even director of education for a zoo. There is a Fulbright Scholar, as well as classroom teachers and school administrators. We are so very proud of these members!
