Wanted: Your Leadership Ideas & Resources!

Do you have an opinion to share about women’s leadership in education or in society? The Leadership Discovery Centre wants your thoughts in its Viewpoints: Around the World section. We especially are encouraging DKG members who can submit in English and another language.

Do you have ideas about how you are sustaining leadership in your state or province? Share your ideas in our Viewpoints: Around the World section. If you include your email address, other members may share their ideas as well!

Have you recently read an inspiring, informative book on leadership? Submit an annotated bibliography entry in the Centre’s format*, and we will consider including it in the Centre under our Outside Resources.

Make the Leadership Discovery Centre your “go-to” spot to get new ideas and to share your ideas!

Viewpoints Around the World

Do you have a leadership viewpoint burning inside you? Do you have thoughts to share about your leadership experiences as a woman leader? Please submit your thoughts to the Leadership Discovery Centre Ad Hoc Committee. Entries provided in this section of the Centre are informal opinions that do not require full research or elaboration. We ask that members consider including their email address to encourage dialogue with the author.

Currently, we have a few entries in Viewpoints Around the World in English as well as in the native language, but that is not a requirement!  As an international organization, it is wonderful to see contributions and ideas from a variety of different cultures. Whether you have two languages or one, your opinions and reflections are welcome!

To submit, sign in on the website (dkg.org), go to the Centre on the right, click on “Submit” and fill out the form. Then you can attach your entry. The windows for submission are August 16-Dec. 15; Dec. 16-April 15; and April 16-August 15. The committee will score during the two weeks after the window, and the chair will confer with you on any suggested revisions, etc. So gear up, and share your thoughts and reflections with us!!

The Leadership Centre IS a World of Opportunity!

Does a pilot fly a plane by herself? Does a doctor operate without a team? No! The Leadership Discovery Centre: A World of Opportunity on our new DKG website will help all members as leaders hone their skills and get support. We are part of your team and here to support YOU!

What is leadership? There are an infinite number of definitions for the term leadership. Rather than attempt to define leadership, it is the goal of the Leadership Discovery Centre: A World of Opportunity to provide resources and tools to embolden individuals to seek and define personal leadership style. Individuals will then be able to seize opportunities to lead more readily and more often.

As International Committees develop their training materials for states and chapters, they will be submitting their materials to the Centre Committee to be included on the website. Chapters and State organizations may also share their materials with us. There will also be a general leadership section that is not job-specific, so if you have written an article, podcast, PowerPoint, or other media about leadership and you wish to share, please submit your work.  Contact Barbara Clausen at barbjclausen@comcast.net for more information.
