Understanding the Travel Policy

Finance Committee Blog

Over the last few years, all aspects of travel have changed significantly.  From the initial booking of reservations to boarding your chosen mode of transportation, there seem to be hidden charges and extra fees for each trip.  As the DKG Society International navigates these ever-evolving procedures, it is important for members to understand exactly what expenses are reimbursable.

In August of 2022, the 2022-2024 International Administrative Board tasked the International Finance Committee with the revising of the DKG Society International Travel Policy.  The new policy is intended to clarify all steps for reimbursement of expenses incurred during service to the Society.  Consistency and uniformity are key to the Travel Policy and due to the extensive guidelines addressed in this revised policy, it will be published as part of the GAPP (General Administrative Policies and Procedures) instead of appearing in the International Standing Rules document.

To view the approved DKG Society International Travel Policy, log on to dkg.org, sign in, and select Document/Publications under the green banner at the top.  Scroll down to find GAPP, and after clicking on this tab, choose Policies.  The Travel Reimbursement Policy is shown as an option under Policies.  If you are invited by the International President,  to travel on behalf of the Society, please review the Travel Policy prior to planning your trip.  Your involvement in the DKG Society International is key to its success and assisting you by reimbursing your travel expenses is paramount to future involvement of members.
