One leadership style is called servant leadership. In this style, the leader isn’t working to gain power for themselves but to serve the members of the organization. Robert Greenleaf coined the term servant-leader to describe the one who shares power with others in the organization, puts the needs of others first and helps the members to develop and perform as highly as possible.
Is this not what we see in DKG leadership? Our leaders work with others on a leadership team to create a meaningful chapter or state organization. DKG leaders are willing to give their time and effort to meet the needs of their members. Finally, our leaders encourage and mentor members serving on committees to develop their own leadership skills.
We send thanks to our DKG servant-leaders!
